Dave Wottle visits The ArmoryDave Wottle is known for one of the greatest 800-meter finishes in Olympic history. Wottle won the 800 meters at the 1972 Munich Olympics in 1:45.86, erasing what looked like an insurmountable lead in the final 200 meters. He won by .03 seconds. Even more than his incredible finish, Wottle was known for the white golf cap that he wore during the race and for his entire career. His cap is displayed in the National Track and Field Hall of Fame at the Armory. |

The kids hid on the first floor and were fitted for bike helmets and given locks for bikes they haven’t even seen yet. All this while 300 Bank of America trainees assembled brand new Huffy bicycles for kids they never met.
